Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing credit risk for both Business-to-Customer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) clients. Your main duties include:

Credit Risk & Portfolio Management

  • Assess financial strength of clients by conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Manage lending limits and perform periodic credit reviews
  • Monitor customer database and provide input on credit limits, ratings, and risk exposure
  • Ensure compliance with Core Group’s risk philosophy and financial policies

Decision-Making & Risk Mitigation

  • Evaluate credit, taxation, accounting, and legal risks associated with transactions
  • Provide risk mitigation measures for consumer finance products
  • Work with the credit committee to document and present findings
  • Maintain an updated portfolio with regular reviews (at least once every 12 months)

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting

  • Act as a bridge between risk and business teams on contentious credit matters
  • Forecast financial data and build financial models to support decision-making
  • Participate in meetings with senior stakeholders to discuss financial risks
  • Track and manage project progress, ensuring that all stakeholders’ expectations are met

Qualifications & Experience Needed

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • CA (SA) or CFA designation is preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in credit risk analysis in the retail or banking industry
  • Strong knowledge of the credit lifecycle
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of credit analysts
  • Ability to query, interpret, and present complex financial data
