Key Responsibilities

The selected intern will play an essential role in supporting the SHE department with the following tasks:

2. Supporting Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations

  • Assist in reviewing and conducting Risk Assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
  • Support the investigation process for incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures.

3. Communication and Awareness Initiatives

  • Assist in sharing changes to SHE procedures by updating notice boards and communication screens.
  • Attend SHE meetings and ensure employees are well-informed about safety updates and compliance requirements.

4. Training and Development Support

  • Assist the training facilitator in arranging and planning safety training programs for employees.
  • Ensure employees receive relevant safety guidance and induction sessions.

5. Data Collection and Compliance Tracking

  • Collate SHE statistics and performance reports to measure compliance levels.
  • Maintain action trackers for all SHE activities and drive implementation plans for corrective actions.

6. Supporting SHE Audits and Compliance Checks

  • Work closely with SHE coordinators to drive audit plans and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support inspections in areas such as hygiene, first aid box checks, housekeeping, and site area inspections.

7. Leading Two Key SHE Projects

To develop critical skills, the intern will be assigned two key projects to enhance SHE systems within Unilever. These projects will provide hands-on experience in identifying and solving safety challenges.

8. Conducting Contractor SHE Inductions

As part of compliance procedures, the intern will conduct SHE induction sessions for contractors working on-site. This ensures all external workers are aware of Unilever’s safety policies before beginning their tasks.
