Key Responsibilities and Role Context
This internship is designed for those who are eager to gain practical learning experience in the business administration field. The intern will be working in a team within the Office of the CEO and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to data management, administration, and coordination of key organizational functions.
Key Performance Areas
- Data Management:
- Compile Data on Request: The intern will be responsible for gathering and organizing data as requested by senior management. This may include creating reports and preparing presentations based on the data.
- Maintain Various Data Sets: A key responsibility will be to maintain accurate and up-to-date data for the CEO’s office, ensuring that all records are properly cataloged and accessible.
- Administrative Support:
- Administrative Processes: The intern will assist in maintaining the administrative processes within the CEO’s office. This may include scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and organizing important files.
- Practical Learning Exposure: The intern will gain exposure to organization-wide administration and be involved in day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflow in the office.
- Project and Stakeholder Management: A significant part of the role involves assisting with managing the CEO’s operational tasks, including governance and strategic partnerships, as well as project coordination.
- Office Support: The intern will provide general administrative assistance in running the office effectively, handling various tasks as directed by the CEO’s office.
- Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Additional Duties: The intern may be asked to take on other duties as necessary, helping out with various ad hoc projects and office requirements.
Requirements and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6): A qualification in Business Management, Management, or an equivalent field is required.
- No prior work experience is needed, making this position an excellent opportunity for a fresh graduate or someone seeking to gain practical experience in the field.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential for managing administrative tasks efficiently.
- Strong Administrative Skills: The intern must possess a keen eye for detail and accuracy in performing all administrative duties.
- Teamwork: The ability to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute positively to the office’s dynamics is key.
- Accuracy: Given the nature of the work, attention to detail and the ability to maintain error-free data and documentation is vital.
