Role Summary
As an Aftercare Locum Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging aftercare learning environment while ensuring students’ academic and personal growth. Your role will focus on planning and delivering interactive aftercare activities, nurturing student progress, and maintaining professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and present exciting aftercare lessons and activities.
- Create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Ensure punctuality, discipline, and high standards of work.
- Continuously reflect on and improve teaching practices.
- Provide extra lessons twice a week if required.
- Develop high-quality learning resources for students.
- Respond to parent emails and messages within 24 hours.
- Participate in school-wide events as directed by the Head of School.
- Conduct student assessments, set and mark exams, and provide constructive feedback.
- Write detailed and insightful student reports.
Minimum Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A university degree in a relevant subject
- Certified Teaching Status
- 2-5 years’ experience in a secondary school or post-16 education
- Experience in a high-performing international school
- Proficiency in ICT for teaching
- Familiarity with IEB Programmes
- Legal right to work in South Africa
