Detailed Job Description

As a Risk Management Intern, you will play a supportive role in the execution of key risk management activities, helping AgriSETA achieve its governance and ethical objectives. You will assist with research, risk assessments, and the development and review of governance documents, while gaining valuable exposure to ethics management and anti-fraud strategies.

Your core tasks include coordinating risk management processes, supporting fraud prevention initiatives, and preparing risk reports for senior management committees. You will also take part in risk workshops, manage risk-related records, and assist in scheduling meetings and audits.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and data gathering related to risk management functions.
  • Support the development and review of risk management governance frameworks and ethics policies.
  • Help maintain comprehensive and up-to-date risk registers for organisational risks including fraud risk assessments.
  • Support the Ethics Management programme and assist with awareness campaigns and training.
  • Coordinate anti-fraud and corruption initiatives, including monitoring fraud prevention plans.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer with preparing quarterly risk management reports for Management and Audit Committees.
  • Participate in risk workshops by taking notes, coordinating logistics, and compiling outcomes.
  • Maintain administrative records related to risk management.
  • Schedule and coordinate risk assessment meetings and audits.
  • Liaise internally across all AgriSETA divisions and engage with external stakeholders as necessary.

Requirements for Applicants

  • Qualifications: NQF Level 6 / National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Forensic Accounting and Investigation, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: No prior work experience required—ideal for recent graduates.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Computer literacy and strong administrative skills
    • Ability to handle large volumes of data with keen attention to detail
    • Effective verbal and written communication
    • Strong planning and coordination skills
    • Respect for organisational protocols and time management
