Job Overview
SPAR is seeking a Baker to join their dynamic team. The primary role of this position is to manufacture yeast-based bakery products while ensuring quality standards are met in line with the Bakery Manager’s production plans.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
1. Implementing Cyclical Production Plans
- Following production schedules as outlined by the Bakery Manager.
- Ensuring bakery operations run smoothly and efficiently.
2. Controlling Ingredients Used in Baking Yeast-Based Products
- Ensuring correct ingredient measurements.
- Monitoring ingredient quality and availability.
- Managing ingredient wastage and cost control.
3. Stock Control
- Keeping track of stock levels and replenishing when needed.
- Ensuring fresh ingredients are always available.
- Minimizing stock losses and ensuring proper storage.
4. Hygiene & Housekeeping
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary baking environment.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conducting regular hygiene inspections and quality checks.
5. Supervising Staff
- Leading a team of bakers and assistants.
- Training and mentoring new staff members.
- Ensuring staff adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
6. Customer Service
- Ensuring bakery products meet customer expectations in terms of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Addressing any customer inquiries or concerns related to bakery products.
- Keeping up with customer preferences and bakery trends.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric / NQF Level 4 Equivalent
- Recognized technical qualification in yeast-based baking
- At least 3 years of baking experience

- Product Knowledge: Understanding different types of baked goods.
- Production Chain: Familiarity with the baking production process.
- Cold Chain Management: Managing refrigeration and storage of ingredients.
- Manufacturing Process: Handling bakery equipment efficiently.
