Position Overview
Mambos is currently hiring Cashiers and Shop Assistants for a contract position starting in mid-May 2025. These are flexi-time roles, ideal for individuals who are looking to gain experience in the retail industry or those seeking part-time work. Key Responsibilities
Cashier Responsibilities:
- Customer Transactions: The cashier will be responsible for processing customer purchases at the point of sale (POS), ensuring each transaction is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Customer Service: Providing friendly and exceptional service to customers, assisting them with their shopping needs and answering any product-related questions.
- Store Cleanliness: Cashiers will be expected to perform general cleaning duties, maintaining the store’s cleanliness to company standards.
- Inventory Management: Cashiers will assist with inventory counts, identifying and reporting any issues such as inventory losses or scanning errors.
- Cash Management: Adhering strictly to cash handling policies to minimize losses and ensure the security of the store’s cash flow.
Shop Assistant Responsibilities:
- Stocking Shelves: Shop assistants will be responsible for stocking shelves and organizing new inventory, ensuring that products are available and accessible for customers.

Qualifications
Mambos is looking for candidates who can deliver excellent customer service and contribute positively to the store’s operations. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Grade 12 qualification is required.
- Previous experience in a retail environment, especially in a customer-facing role, is preferred.
- Cashier role: The ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Shop Assistant role: Familiarity with stock replenishment procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and team members effectively.
