Digital Ambassador Overview

  • Job Title: Digital Ambassadors: Ya Rona Digital Programme

  • Stipend: Monthly stipend paid to successful candidates

Key Responsibilities of a Digital Ambassador

As a Digital Ambassador, your role will involve training community members on essential digital literacy skills. Your tasks will include:

  • Training Delivery: Attend training sessions to learn about basic digital literacy modules, including topics like computer usage, online communication, and internet safety.
  • Community Engagement: After training, you will be responsible for delivering this knowledge to local community members, schools, and organizations.
  • Collaboration with Municipalities: Work closely with local municipalities to arrange training venues for your community-based lessons.
  • Target Achievement: Ensure you meet weekly and monthly training targets, providing reports on your progress.
  • Learner Management System: You will also be responsible for training community members on the use of the Learner Management System.
  • Reporting: Submit weekly progress reports to NEMISA on the number of trained citizens and their location.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for the Digital Ambassador position, candidates must meet the following educational and experience criteria:

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum:
    • National Certificate in Information Technology and Computer Science NQF Level 2-4 (TVET College) or N6.
  • Ideal:
    • Matric.
    • Computer Certificate.
    • IT Diploma.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum:
    • At least 1-2 years of working experience in a related field.
  • Ideal:
    • Bilingual proficiency is advantageous.

Job-Related Knowledge and Skills:

  • Essential Knowledge:
    • Basic knowledge of computer packages.
    • Familiarity with digital literacy.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Report writing skills.
    • Computer literacy.
  • Competencies:
    • Ability to impact and influence others.
    • Critical judgement and information gathering.
    • Initiative and emotional maturity.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
