Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Gauteng Government Library Services Learnership, applicants must:
- Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Possess a Certificate in ICT or a relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Demonstrate skills in planning, organization, problem-solving, conflict management, computer literacy, verbal and written communication, and data collection.
The programme encourages applications from individuals with disabilities and previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Gauteng Government Library Services Learnership, participants will:
- Assist library users with research, job applications, and school projects based on the CAPS curriculum.
- Offer guidance in the use of Microsoft Office tools and online platforms like CISCO.
- Help manage library technology areas such as the gaming room.
- Track and record library e-resource usage and manage user registrations.
- Provide general customer support in a library setting.
