Requirements for the General Worker Position
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Education: Minimum qualification of Grade 12 (Matric)
- Work Experience: At least 1-2 years of practical experience in garden maintenance
- General Maintenance Skills: Experience in general maintenance and facility inspections
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
- Independence: Ability to work independently
- Language Proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to communicate and work with a team
- Technical Ability: Basic technical skills, including operating garden machines
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to handle physical labor
Duties and Responsibilities
The General Worker will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Garden Maintenance: Weeding, mowing, and maintaining lawns
- Building Upkeep: Regular maintenance of buildings
- Technical Duties: Performing basic technical tasks as assigned
- Cleaning Responsibilities: Ensuring vehicles and tools are clean and well-maintained
- Waste Management: Assisting in the collection of refuse at different sites
- Pavement and Driveway Maintenance: Keeping pavements and driveways neat and clear
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Assisting with additional duties assigned by the supervisor
