Who Can Apply?
Govan Mbeki Municipality is inviting applications from unemployed graduates who have completed studies in the following fields:

- Management Accounting
- Auditing
Preference will be given to graduates from within the Govan Mbeki Municipal jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to attach a copy of their municipal service account as proof of residence.
Programme Objectives
The MFMIP was introduced as part of an effort to strengthen financial management within municipalities. This programme provides interns with exposure to:
- Strategic planning and financial management
- Municipal budgeting processes
- Implementation of financial reforms under the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA)
- General operations within a local government finance setting
Interns will be assigned mentors and supervisors to guide them through the learning process, ensuring they gain practical experience in municipal finance. In addition to working within the Budget and Treasury Office, interns may also be placed in other relevant municipal departments where their expertise can be applied.
