Eligibility Criteria & Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- A National three-year diploma or degree in Information Technology
Required Skills & Certifications
- A+ and N+ or any equivalent Microsoft-certified qualification
- At least 1-2 years of experience in an IT environment
- Strong understanding of software and hardware support (Windows/Microsoft)
Key Competencies
- Ability to manage service helpdesk and desktop support functions
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Knowledge of network cabling and PC installations
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Successful candidates will be responsible for a variety of IT support tasks, ensuring smooth technological operations at the college. Some of the key duties include:
Help Desk & Desktop Support
- Assisting in the management of Service Help Desk and desktop support functions
- Setting up user accounts on desktops and laptops (Windows)
- Unlocking passwords using Admin Pack
- Configuring and setting up desktops, printers, and data projectors
- Maintaining a service catalogue and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures
Network & System Administration
- Implementation of IT Service Desk policies
- Performing backups and anti-virus support
- Troubleshooting software and hardware issues
- Ensuring availability of email services, internet services, and application services
- Maintaining telephone system and network
- Performing installation, configuration, testing, and upgrades of IT systems
Technical Support & Infrastructure Management
- Providing telephonic IT support to staff and students
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure
- Supporting data migration and system upgrades
- Ensuring security and integrity of IT databases
- Analyzing IT-related issues and offering practical solutions
