Laboratory Assistant Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Health and Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations set by Quality Laboratory Services.
- Identify and report hazards or risks in your work environment.

- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure laboratory cleanliness.
Sample Collection and Preparation
- Conduct routine sampling in operational areas.
- Prepare samples through processes such as:
- Crushing
- Pulverizing
- Filtering
- Rolling
- Splitting
- Drying
- Perform sieve sizing analysis as part of sample preparation.
- Mark, label, and store samples according to specifications.
Equipment Handling and Maintenance
- Inspect and perform first-line fault finding on sampling equipment.
- Clean and unblock laboratory sampling equipment to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain laboratory instruments and comply with calibration standards.
Documentation and Quality Control
- Complete sample checklists and log samples in the system.
- Ensure all equipment meets quality verification and certification standards.
