About the Internship Programme
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is guided by the Municipal Finance Management Act 56 of 2003. The program is specifically designed to develop the skills and competencies of aspiring professionals in accounting, finance, and auditing. Interns will receive hands-on experience and theoretical training, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the financial operations within a municipal environment.
Participants who successfully complete the program will earn a qualification in Municipal Finance Management, compliant with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels, Gazette No. 29967 of 15 June 2007.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the MFMIP, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have completed Grade 12.
- A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or Auditing is essential.
- Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be willing to sign both an employment contract and an internship agreement.
- Full participation in all educational and workplace assignments is mandatory.
