Job Description
As an R&D Intern at RCL Foods, you will be instrumental in the product development process. Your responsibilities will include:
- Product Development & Innovation:
- Assisting R&D Technologists/Managers in developing new products as per project briefs
- Screening raw materials for suitability in applications and manufacturing
- Testing alternative ingredients for cost or quality improvements
- Conducting product shelf-life tests and compiling reports
- Benchmarking products against competitors
- Setting up and preparing for tasting sessions
- Assisting in internal and external customer presentations
- Quality Assessments:
- Conducting tests for softness, texture, volume, and water activity
- Interpreting data collected from quality assessment instruments
- Administration & Reporting:
- Maintaining the sample register and library
- Recording and archiving all laboratory trial data
- Documenting all recipe revisions during the product development process
- Compiling test bakery and shelf-life test reports
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- BSc or BSc(Hons) in Food Science or equivalent qualification
- National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology or equivalent qualification
- Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to complete their qualifications
- Lab experience will be an added advantage
