Site Creditors Clerk Job Description

As a Site Creditors Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems and support the management of our projects. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our renewable energy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance and accounting, and be highly organized and detail-oriented.

Your main responsibilities will include processing invoices, handling expenses, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that all financial records are in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Site Creditors Clerk at Seriti, you’ll have the following key duties:

Research and Filing: You’ll be responsible for conducting financial research, maintaining accurate and complete records, and ensuring proper filing of all documents related to finances and contracts.
Invoice Processing: One of your key duties will be capturing and processing approved invoices. You’ll ensure compliance with local laws, such as VAT and WHT, and generate bi-weekly payment reports.
Bank Reconciliation: You will capture bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations at month-end to ensure that all records are up to date and accurate.
Expense Claims: Managing senior management’s expense claims and ensuring they are processed in a timely and compliant manner will be part of your role.
Audit Support: During annual audits, you will assist by ensuring that audit folders are up to date and all relevant documentation is available for review.
Contract Management: Maintain and update contract databases, ensuring all contracts are accurately documented and tracked.
Reconciliation: You will be responsible for reconciling payables and general accounts, ensuring that all discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Filing System Management: You will develop and maintain a filing system for invoices, expense claims, and company contracts, ensuring that the system is organized and easy to navigate.

Education & Experience

Degree: A degree in Accounting or Finance is required to qualify for this position.
Experience: You should have at least 5 years of experience working in a clerk role, preferably within the renewable energy sector or a similar industry.
Knowledge of Tax Regulations: A good understanding of South African tax regulations and their implications on accounts payable is necessary.
Vehicle: You must have your own vehicle to travel to and from work and handle site-related tasks if required.
