  • Work Integrated Learning: Participate in a Work Integrated Learning project assigned by the Line Manager, allowing you to experience practical aspects of risk management.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Work on collecting and analyzing Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) data for ongoing assessments and improvements.
  • Emergency Drills and Safety Management: Participate in emergency drills, monitor contractor safety management, and contribute to safety audits and inspections.
  • SHE Training and Awareness: Help in organizing SHE training and awareness campaigns for employees across the organization.
  • Incident Investigations: Assist in investigating incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and addressed effectively.
  • Review of SHE Procedures: Review and update SHE procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
  • Planned Job Observations (PJOs): Conduct Planned Job Observations (PJOs) to assess the effectiveness of safety protocols and identify areas of improvement.

Skills and Qualifications Required

Tiger Brands is looking for candidates who have a strong foundation in Safety Management and Risk Management. The key qualifications and skills required for this internship are:

  • National Diploma in Safety Management: A qualification in Safety Management is essential.
  • Risk Management: Preference will be given to candidates who are looking to complete P1 and P2 in Risk Management, though this is not a strict requirement.
  • Relevant Academic Background: Applicants should have completed a relevant National Diploma, BTech, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Limited Full-Time Work Experience: Candidates should not have worked more than one year in a full-time role related to their field of study.
  • Work Authorization: The intern must be authorized to work in South Africa.
